Skiing, climbing, and karting under one roof
The diverse range of sports and leisure activities generates a vibrant atmosphere throughout the complex and ensures a solid economic foundation for the shops, catering, and childcare services. In terms of maintenance and building services, stacking these functions within a relatively compact building volume leads to significant savings on operating costs.
Ski slope
The dimensions of the ski slope determined the shape of the extension. Because the slope follows the curve of the ice rink, you cannot see the bottom from the top of the run, which makes the 200-meter descent more exciting and realistic than is typical for indoor ski slopes.
Kart track circuit
For the kart track circuit, which required more width, the building volume on the ground floor was pragmatically extended with a large rectangular hall. The result is a hybrid structure with a labyrinthine interior that—entirely in keeping with its recreational purpose—holds plenty of surprises in store for visitors.
