The building consists of two sleek office wings in warm natural stone, which lie in an L-shape against the embankments of the Bijlmerdreef and the Foppingadreef. The angle where these two wings meet is marked by an oval glass shaft, with an elliptical staircase suspended inside. The entrance wing on the Foppingadreef 'ends' with a retail space, so that the building is functionally 'attached' to the shopping center that is next door, Amsterdamse Poort.

The tapered formal main entrance is located on the Foppingadreef; from the public pedestrian zone at the rear of the building, one floor below, a second entrance provides access to the building's two-sided central hall. On this car-free side, the building shows its informal side. The building, public space and plants are intertwined here into an organic whole; the wavy brick façade provides a clear relationship with the iconic Sandcastle.

The bank's Dealing Room is located in the armpit of the two office wings. In order to be able to design this 1,400 m² hall, where ING's international money and capital markets take place, completely column-free, the roof with a garden structure was suspended from a diagonal concrete disk in the corner of the office wings. This is how a functional, light space was created that contrasts surprisingly with the warmer exterior design.
